Design Notes:

First things first, the cooking area was moved to the back wall so it would be the main focus when you walked into the family room and kitchen. The range hood was flanked with two counter to ceiling glass cabinets for impact and symmetry.

Hand glazed field tiles were used to blend with the cabinetry and added glass liners with bronze metal inserts for contrast.

The island was designed for entertaining and necessary prep work, with a wine cooler on one end and a large farmhouse sink on center. The larger upper portion of the island works great for serving or dining.

The painted maple cabinetry has a warm taupe glaze to contrast with the dark Brazilian cherry floors. The granite is a beautiful blend of creams, gold and grays to tie everything together.

The chandeliers and the glass door hardware are the perfect touches of jewelry that compliment the entire project and give it a formal appeal. Needless to say, hosting gatherings and entertaining in this striking new kitchen are a joy.

Client Comments and Commendation:

After looking for a kitchen dealer for about a year and seeing an advertisement for Drury Design in Naperville Magazine, I decided to call for an appointment. After we met with Tina Muller and viewed her portfolio during our showroom visit, we knew that Drury Design was the place.

We had tried unsuccessfully for several months with different companies to find someone that could translate our thoughts and ideas into a kitchen design concept. Tina demonstrated her ability to “put on paper” the kitchen that I had in my mind and was dreaming about. We were so impressed with the quality of her work! In addition to fulfilling all our requirements, she provided suggestions that achieved a finished kitchen that exceeded all our expectations.

It is difficult to say which feature of our new kitchen we are most excited about, since we are extremely happy with every aspect of the kitchen! I love the design of the island in two levels, with the wine cooler integrated in it. The second level of the island is wonderful to serve dinners buffet style when serving big parties. Having the wine cooler integrated there in the island is convenient for entertaining as well for the daily use since it is so close to the family room. Another feature that I love is the illuminated cabinets with the glass shelves!

My husband and me both enjoyed Tina’s personality. It was exciting and a pleasure to sit down with her to discuss design, and we appreciated her patience as we made decisions based on her suggestions. The professionalism of all the staff made the experience pleasant.

If I had a one suggestion for someone doing a kitchen design project – spend time researching the products available in the market and choose a designer that has a portfolio where you love everything you see.
