Thank You from Gail Drury

Dear Clients, Partners and Friends,

In case you didn’t know, Jim and I quietly stepped back from Drury Design after thirty-five years. We sold the business in late 2021 and have been working diligently for the past year to ensure a seamless transition. The business we nurtured for many years is in very good hands. The new owners, Gladys and Carl Schanstra, are the ideal team for carrying on the Drury legacy. They have the same vision for the company and are committed to the same five-star level of design, build quality, and service that has always been so important to us. Gladys started her career at Drury 22 years ago and has made quite a name for herself in the industry.

I will continue working on my current long-term projects for the foreseeable future, completing them and then working behind the scenes as needed by the Drury Design team. I will always be a designer at heart and don’t plan to be far away from the core of the business.

It has been a great run for me and Jim, my husband/business partner, who joined in on the fun in 2000. With the gracious and loyal support of our most important asset – you, the Drury clients – we have had tremendous good fortune and success. We could not have done this without the support of everyone – our clients, vendors, and employees, some of whom I have worked with for decades.

I have many great memories of the projects I have been involved with. More importantly, I have fond memories of you, the clients who entrusted me with helping you succeed in creating beautiful, customized living spaces and new homes. I would like to thank all of you for your past and future business, and the wonderful opportunity to get to know you. These relationships have meant so much to me. I will miss all of you. At the same time, I am looking forward to what the future has to bring for Jim and I.

I do not see this as an end but as a new beginning for Gladys, Carl, Jim, and I. I am excited about Drury Design’s future and am proud to be a part of it. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has traveled on this journey with us. Thank you for your support.
