Astor St. District Remarkable Master Bath Remodel

Designer: Gail Drury, CMKBD

Co-Designer: John Cialone of Thomas Stringer Design

Calacata Crema Delicato marble countertops with a smooth satin edge grace the Grabill Super White inset vanity. Velour custom jewelry inserts fill the vanity to make ample and organized storage a daily convenience. A large framed beaded edge mirror rests above the vanity to add depth and practicality. The marble tile on the floor, wall, and niche are expertly chosen to match the countertop. To add variation among the tile, rectangular and arabesque marble tiles are paired together.

Three layers of lighting are masterfully combined to foster the perfect aesthetic whether the homeowner is preparing for her workday or settling in for a relaxing bath after a long week. Overhead and task lighting combined with sconces create the perfect amount of vanity light, while the chandelier adds a touch of elegance. Even though this Chicago bathroom design fosters the same traditional design sense as the landmarked address, it does not lack modern flourishes. Housed above the freestanding tub are a flat screen television and speaker system, and in the shower niche is a steam shower with body sprays, and rain head which offers a luxurious bathing experience.
